Them Hills

My friends are currently on tour, and I have been dancing like an idiot in my living room to their tunes. Now, I am always kind of torn on the idea if it is alright to be a fan of a friend's band. It can be confusing. Do you like the music so much because the person is so cool, or do you like the person so much because the music is so cool? Luckily in the case of Them Hills I don't find myself in this conundrum. The answer is simple; I like them both because they are both awesome. Turns out the owners of the building that houses the House of Shields Bar in SF is not renewing their lease. So, by June no more House of Shields venue, unless of course something cool happens.
WTF right?

one of last math tests of the semester I need to get a B or better, wish me luck. :)

The Snakes The Fire

I am still listening to their rough demo cuts with the simple shit mixes and it sounds pretty good. If these guys were given a few more years, some studio time, and a record deal they could be the next Isis or Zombi. The sounds for the most part are either super epic and aggressive, or melancholy and heartbreakingly honest. For a two piece these guys can really fill a room with sound. My only real critique would to be pull back a little on the need to be big and epic, and focus more on delivering a few solid hook lines with the keys before dragging the listener off the next post-apocalyptic cliff.
